Terms and Conditions

To request an access provider (interpreter or transcriber) for meetings related to student academic programs (e.g., meeting with professors or advisors), you must give at least a five (5) business days’ notice (Monday – Friday, not weekends) to the Assistant Director.

Please note, if the access provider is requested with less than five business-day notice, the Assistant Director will make a good faith effort to meet the request, but the services will not be guaranteed pending availability of access providers.

To request an access provider for a campus event or program, please contact the hosting department for accommodations when possible. The DSS office will work with that department to ensure access providers are in place.

If you are not able to attend an event after an access provider has been confirmed, please contact the hosting department to cancel the access provider with at least 24 hours advance notice. In some situations, students may not be able to provide 24 hours’ notice; however, any advanced notice is helpful.
